We are a running couple, Tomi and Salla Ronkainen, also known as Team Ronkainen. Our sport is ultrarunning, and we've been working as a team since 2017, which means that Tomi usually runs, and Salla takes care of us, but it works the other way around too. The importance of Salla on such long journeys is truly significant.

In terms of results, last year was the best so far – Tomi set new Finnish records for 24 hours and 100 miles: 24 hours with 260.160 km and 100 miles completed in 13:49. Tomi was also awarded the title of Finland's Ultramarathon Runner of the Year.

Our son will soon turn 1 year old, and this year, Salla will also get to work hard in ultramarathon races, with the 166 km Karhunkierros ahead of her in May. Salla's short-term goal is also to improve her personal record in the 100 km (10 hours 7 minutes). Salla has also been awarded the title of Runner of the Year. Tomi, on the other hand, is preparing for the legendary Spartathlon in Greece in September – a 246 km race from Athens to Sparta.
